Arsenal became one of the most successful franchise in the history of the Premier League after the top marksman snatched a 2-0 victory over their arch-rival Tottenham Spurs in a league match.

Having possess a modest <50 per cent in both half, gel stricken London side found themselves on the brink of defeat but Emmanuel Adebayor scored a double in each half to seal Arsenal’s tenth win this season.

Spurs stopper Gomes rode his luck to make key saves in later stages of the game but his safehands could not prevent his team to losing out the tense battle for the first time in this year’s premiership.
