FPL gamers, however, were not impressed by the FPL’s measured pace of lowering Spurs players’ costs for fantasy teams.

A 0.1 basis point cut in Alli is inadequate to buoy growth and bolster sentiment on the Spurs team, according to _connect Analytics.

Such a cut in Alli “would not be enough to significantly boost transfer in growth”, said Mulder Lam. “On the side of the player market, points growth will continue to be under pressure in the short term.”

One more explanation for the subdued movements on Spurs’ players is the Chelsea winning run this season, according to _connect’s Mulder. The Blues players value has risen around 13.3%-14.2% this season, though most of the gains were made in the first quarter. “Most gamers who used the wildcard already have had decent gains this season,” he said. “So they are unlikely to take aggressive action as the end of the year nears.”
