Captain and Vice Captain, Big head and big head

Richard Dunne , Micah Richards

In the beginning of the new era of Manchester City, they face a uphill task face Hull City and Newcastle United without my main man, Richard Dunne due to 2-match suspension. Who is his replacement? The answer I got is from the Euro-cup match against Kalmar FF, Nedum Onuoha is very good at the back although he is only 21-years-old. His physical ability is outstanding. Who else? It is
decent and sensible to move Micah Richards in the central defensive role. And Marek Jankulovski could be an option. However, I ruled him out due to severely lacking in match fitness problem. Last but not least, Vincent Kompany is out because of his international duty for a few week in Olympics.

Vukcevic out in the cold

Simon Vukcevic is the highest profile player to have been excluded by Montenegro manager Zoran Filipovic from his squad to face Hungary in this week’s friendly.

Reports have suggested that the 22-year-old is being rested but the
speculation on the Manchester City attacking midfielder’s Montenegro future will continue to mount until the team’s next friendly match.

The new Manchester City signing has already made it known in recent days that he is pleased to be part of the setup at The City of Manchester Stadium.

Vukcevic has won 5 caps for Montenegro.

What if he come back to the fold of Montenegro and Man City main plan?

We can see that Jovetic and Vucinic are both good players in international level. They could make a big hit in next few years and in some European competition. He needs to adept in my City plan and find a way through to get back to international first team and City first team action as quick as possible since moving from Sporting CP.

Plan ahead – The right position in City squad

He will compete with Shaun Wright-Phillips and Pablo Zabaleta for the right winger place. However, his favourite position is left winger. But I got Martin Petrov and Robinho in that position. I believe Daniel Sturridge could do a great job too. He need to put extra effort to hunt down a limited game time in a fierce team rotated competition.

Where are the pocket and speed-stars?

In my disposal, Robinho can play both positions. But how can I maximize the value of his contribution to the team?

Firstly, we look at the key stat of Robinho.

Physical perspective:

In a long season ahead, we should consider how many game time you are going to assign to him. Approximately, 40+ games in a season are quite a lot. It demands some hugh physical presence to succeed and sustain his power throughout the season.

I usually do ask my assistant coach, Mark Bowen to draft me the latest prefect squad. And I will make some small changes to get my game plan in a good direction.

He is not a player who is easily getting hurt. But he could be an excellent player when he can play in 100% condition with high morale and good game stats.

Technical perspective:

No doubt. He is going to get past the defenders. It could be a nightmare for them. And I am sure that we will see him getting into one-on-one situation.

Mental perspective:

While we may like to put him in a striker or false-nine role, it is going to be a easy choice. However, he got some sparking ability to change the game in all of the sudden.

As far as I concern, I have a decision to make ahead of some big game. I need to know whether I will put him as a winger or striker role.

But one thing is sure, he is going to be a big hit in my Manchester City squad.

Sturridge seals new contract

Man City’s Daniel Sturridge has put pen to paper on a new 3 year contract.

He stated that his love for the club was the main reason behind him signing the new deal.

Sturridge, 18, arrived at The City of Manchester Stadium from Coventry for a fee of GBP30k in 2005.
