FPL GW5 Free Transfer Glitz: Ollie Watkins

Paneorder says a home meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers can help Aston Villa forward get off to a strong start in 2024/25 FPL

Paneorder is tipping one player to produce big points in Gameweek 5 of Fantasy Premier League.

Ollie Watkins (AVL) 8.9m

The Englishman’s recent form is set to pose big problems for Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.

Watkins’ influence on the Aston Villa attack was significant when playing as a starter last season.

He produced nine goals at home and scored another ten goals on his travels.

Watkins’ numbers also fare well when assessed against his team-mates.

When selected in 2023/24, he was involved in 25 per cent of Villans’ goals. (Total: 76 goals) His tally was more than any other team-mate.

He also claimed 228 FPL points across last season, another competition-high and team-leading total.

Bonus points boost

That goal threat could be good news for Watkins’ prospects of earning bonus points.

Forwards earn more points for every goal they score in the Bonus Points System (BPS), which determines the bonus points in any given match.

He claimed the maximum three bonus points in his last home encounter.

Volatile stock

Interest in Watkins is fluctuating after his blanks in Gameweek 1 and 2 this term.

Although he is the third most-sold forward with more than 1,642,000 sellers across this season, he is the most-bought forward with more than 308,000 new owners in this single Gameweek.

They will be further encouraged by the Wolves’ away record in 2024/25.

On the road, the Wolves conceded three goals and have failed to win in each of the opening two away matches, managing just one goal – both totals are among the bottom ten sides this season.

Watkins can profit from those weaknesses, offering managers a strong candidate for the Gameweek 5 captaincy.

FPL GW4 Free Transfer Glitz: Danny Welbeck

Home meeting with Ipswich Town looks promising for cut-price Brighton & Hove Albion forward

Paneorder is tipping one player who could be set for a breakout Gameweek in Fantasy Premier League.

Danny Welbeck (BHA) 5.7m

The forward is owned by only 16.0 per cent of managers for Brighton & Hove Albion’s home encounter with Ipswich Town.

Welbeck has been the Seagulls’ standout forward threat in their three matches since Fabian Hurzeler took charge.

He has been involved in three of their six goals in that period, delivering a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over Everton in Gameweek 1 to collect 12 points.

The underlying numbers also indicate Welbeck will be Brighton & Hove Albion’s main threat against the Tractor Boys.

He also claimed six of their fifteen bonus points under Hurzeler, his total at least one more than any team-mate.

Tractor Boys porous on the road

Ipswich Town, meanwhile, have been poor in defence on their travels this term.

They have conceded a competition-high 4 goals in one away match.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s schedule suggests Welbeck could prove a handy short-term acquisition.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), each of their next two matches score just two.

As the focal point of the Seagulls’ attack, Welbeck looks well placed to take advantage of that run.

FPL GW3 Free Transfer Glitz: Kevin De Bruyne

Paneorder says Man City attacking midfielder’s away form makes him a strong alternative to Diogo Jota in the coming Gameweeks

Paneorder is tipping one player to produce big points in Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League.

Kevin De Bruyne (MCI) 9.6m

The rush to bring in Diogo Jota (7.6m) in Gameweek 2 means De Bruyne has been largely ignored by Fantasy managers ahead of Gameweek 3.

Diogo Jota has been brought in by 545,000+ managers after Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town and Brentford, taking his ownership to 19.8 per cent.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, sits in only 11.3 per cent of squads, earning 281,000+ transfers in for the trip to West Ham United.

The 33-year-old’s performance in last matchday against Ipswich Town looks promising for his prospects.

He scored one goal and supplied an assist in 4-1 win at Etihad Stadium in Gameweek 2.

That highlights the playmaker’s big potential for points when playing in the advanced position.

The Belgium International’s 3 away goals and 6 assists in last six away matches last term was a team-leading total and at least three assists more than any team-mate in that period.

The underlying numbers further show why De Bruyne is such a potent threat on his playing times.

His total 2 bonus points so far placed him third for Man City, behind his two outstanding team-mates of Erling Haaland (15.1m), and Mateo Kovacic (5.5m).

Fixtures to flourish

Crucially, Man City are now set to embark on a run of five away matches over the next nine Gameweeks.

They also visit Wolverhampton Wanderers, AFC Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion in that period.

De Bruyne can more than match Jota over that schedule, offering managers a major captaincy option over the coming weeks.

FPL GW2 Free Transfer Glitz: Bernardo Silva

Paneorder on why Manchester City midfielder’s form can help extend his strong start to 2024/25 FPL

Paneorder is tipping one player to produce big points in Gameweek 2 of Fantasy Premier League.

Bernardo Silva (MCI) 6.5m

The Manchester City maestro has enjoyed a successful start to the season.

Bernardo‘a sweeping move provided the assist as Erling Haaland (15.0m) scored in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese also contributed to a clean sheet and registered another goal contribution since the Charity Shield match against Manchester United.

With a home encounter against Ipswich Town in Gameweek 2 now gives Bernardo the chance to bring in more returns.

He was far more reliable in FPL when playing at Etihad Stadium last season.

He had a phenomenal 2023/24 season with Manchester City, providing nine assists and propelling the Citizens to the Premier League title, which was his career high in a single Premier League season.

Meanwhile, his playing style is favoured by the Bonus Point System (BPS), which determines the bonus points in any match.

His total of 20 bonus points last term is second among all City’s midfielders.

Indeed, only Phil Foden (9.5m), with 31 bonus points, bettered the City’s midfield partner for statistic.

In demand

Bernardo’s display at Chelsea has quickly caught the attention of Fantasy managers ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 BST deadline.

He is the third most-bought midfielder in the Gameweek, gaining over 213,000 new owners.

And his appeal is further enhanced by a kind upcoming schedule for Man City.

According the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), eight of next ten matches score only two.

That suggests Bernardo can contribute to reward investors, with a big haul against the Ipswich Town on the cards.

FPL GW1 Free Transfer Glitz: Rodri

Paneorder says the Manchester City midfielder is a major influence in home matches and has the form to punish Chelsea

Paneorder is tipping one player to produce big points in Gameweek 1 of Fantasy Premier League.

Rodri (MCI) 6.5m

The Manchester City anchor enjoyed his best-ever FPL campaign in 2023/24.

Rodri totalled 159 points to finish as the third top-scoring City’s player in the game.

He scored 8 goals and supplied 10 assists in Fantasy, finishing only one assist behind their chief creator, Alvarez (7.0m).

Rodri has been consistent to replicate that form in UEFA EURO 2024 in July.

The Spanish International scored once in knock-out stages, a 4-1 win over Georgia.

Popular enabler pick

The 28-year-old’s prolific 2023/24 has made Rodri a major target for the Gameweek 1 visit to Chelsea.

He is a great enabler in midfield in FPL, found in 6.9 per cent of squads.

Those owners will be encouraged by Rodri’s numbers from last season.

When selected, he was involved in 40 per cent of Man City’s away goals during their first two away matches in last campaign.

Indeed, their visit to Chelsea last term, Rodri scored the fourth goal in their 4-4 draw in Stamford Bridge.

Fantastic fixtures

The early-season schedule further promotes the appeal of Rodri.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), four of Man City’s first five home matches score only two.

Although he may not start in Gameweek 1, Rodri can still offer a steady stream of goals during the opening months of 2024/25 FPL.
