FPL GW9 Free Transfer Glitz: Nick Woltemade

Paneorder says Newcastle United’s fixtures mean hitman will be a key pick in Fantasy

Paneorder highlights one player for Fantasy Premier League managers to target before the Gameweek 9 deadline.

Nick Woltemade (NEW) 7.4m

The 23-year-old Woltemade’s move Newcastle last summer followed him scoring 12 times in 28 Bundesliga matches for Stuttgart last season.

And the Golden Boot winner finished top of the scoring charts for the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with six goals from five games in June.

The Germany international has been a huge success since joining Newcastle United in August.

Woltemade has scored four goals in his five Gameweek appearances, blanking on just one occasion.

He has averaged 6.4 points per match, more than any other Magpies’ player. He ranks second among all forwards in Fantasy this season.

The Toon Army’s highly favourable fixtures boost Woltemade’s prospects of more points in FPL.

Four of the club’s next seven opponents, Fulham, West Ham United, Brentford and Burnley, are in the bottom half of the table.

Set-piece appeal

Woltemade’s penalty-kick responsibility is another factor in his favour.

He has been handed spot-kicks for United. And he netted from the spot against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 7.

After his arrival in Gameweek 4, his total of 6 bonus points was top among his teammates. And that total ranked joint-fifth among all forwards in FPL.

With those numbers and his kind run of opponents, Woltemade is poised to be a key player for FPL managers over the upcoming Gameweeks.
