Speaking to _connect Focus, Man City manager in FM, Lam, has stated that players left before the January 31 deadline as their current squad’s disharmony level is too high.
“Our current squad is still one of the best in the league. The goal is to reduce the number of players who are in the discontented group.”
Speaking about Gelson Fernandes (23), Lam said: “I can understand that he is dissatisfied. Games are important for development, especially for a young player like him.” Man City have already sold in January.
Elano is another player who has already departed. “If you’re not happy in the squad for a few months, that’s a clear sign,” added Lam.
Zabaleta has played just 0 minute across 1 games due to his injury and is another player unsatisfied with his role within the squad, in addition the Argentine full-back has been transferred to Liverpool for (#10.5) million. “I can understand that Zabaleta is keen to move on, but the coach did make the last minute decisions,” said Lam.
However, Bassong’s part-exchange deal will go through on Wednesday 1st July, 2009. And, Hamann is set to leave in the next transfer window.
