FPL GW30 Free Transfer Glitz: Tyrone Mings

Paneorder says centre-back’s all round and secure role boost his appeal for Aston Villa’s Gameweek 30

Paneorder highlights one player for Fantasy Premier League managers to target with their priceless transfer before the Gameweek 30 deadline.

Tyrone Mings (AVL) 4.4m

Interest in Aston Villa’s defence has been raised by their kind fixture over the next Gameweek.

Nottingham Forest ranks in the bottom four for goals scored (24) this season, which gives Aston Villa the chance to extend their fine defensive record.

Mings’ total of 9 clean sheets has been bettered only by the defenders from Newcastle United and Arsenal.

The Villans are among the sixteen teams to play in the Blank Gameweek 32, visiting Brentford.

Centre-back Mings has also impressed going forward, producing three assists.

The underlying numbers further highlight his scoring bonus point potential.

Among defenders, his 14 bonus points rank second overall.

Secure starter

Mings is owned by just 7 per cent of managers, compared with the 17.9 per cent of teammate Ollie Watkins (7.5m).

Since Mings retured to the starting XI in Gameweek 24, Aston Villa won five out of the seven Premier League matches with five goals scoring by Watkins during that period.

Aston Villa’s long-term schedule suggests Mings can emerge as a key figure in managers’ line-up over the run-in.

They face Nottingham Forest and Fulham at Villa Park in Gameweek 30 and 33 respectively.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), only two out of nine remaining matches this term over Gameweek 30 and Gameweek 38 score four.

Combined with his attacking threat and chances of further clean sheets, he looks the go-to option in defence for Aston Villa’s upcoming Gameweek.
